--Waterboy, to Robert Robertson

Backstory

Waterboy applied for a janitorial position at SDN on the same day Mecha Man got a job as a dispatcher. He approached Robert after watching an SDN advertisement featuring Phenomaman, whom Waterboy looks up to. While struggling to fasten a tie (soaking it in the process), Robert helped him, and Waterboy explained his ability to make things "moist." He's later seen cleaning Robert's computer keyboard after Invisigal smashes a donut into it, revealing he can expel water from his mouth.

If Chosen for the Z-Team

After the first shift in episode 4, the player can choose Waterboy to fill a Z-Team slot. If chosen, he's enthusiastic and grateful but still nervous. After the final shift, Robert finds him sitting in a water-filled bucket in the janitor's closet, where Robert gives him advice on his confidence issues. Waterboy joins the team at The Sardine (avoiding the bar fight), accompanies them for 3 a.m. tacos, and if Robert reveals himself as Mecha Man, Waterboy defends him against Flambae's attack by spitting water to cancel his fire. In episode 8, if part of the Z-Team, Waterboy is captured by the Red Ring and placed on a high-speed train. Robert must hack to find his location and dispatch members to rescue him.

If Not Chosen for the Z-Team

In episode 8, Robert asks Waterboy to aid in saving LA. Despite his nervousness, he gathers courage after Robert convinces him he can be of major help. Galen assists in preparing him for dispatch.

Trivia

  • His name and appearance serve as both homage and parody of Aquaman from DC Comics, with "Waterboy" being synonyms for "Aquaman"
  • The name also references a "water boy" - a person on the sidelines supplying athletes with water, carrying a mildly derogatory implication matching his timid personality
  • In the digital comics, he lives with his grandma and a bunch of cats
  • Can form synergy with either Malevola or Punch Up, depending on who was left without a partner after cutting a team member
  • A rare interaction has him shout "Top of the mornin-" before being cut off by Punch Up - a reference to Jacksepticeye's YouTube intro
  • Repeatedly addresses Malevola as "Ma'am," which she doesn't approve of
  • There's a bug showing Coupé's criminal record (stalking to first-degree murder) on Waterboy's profile
  • Voiced by Joel Haver, a filmmaker and comedian known for his YouTube animations
