I can see I'm outnumbered, that eventually I would fall. But, by my read, I'm taking a lot of you with me. So, all of you can leave now... Or half of you can die here.

--Blonde Blazer

Backstory

Early Career

Before the events of the game, Blonde Blazer was an active superhero being dispatched on the streets, earning a reputation for herself as a courageous hero representing the "golden age of supers."

Becoming Branch Manager

Eventually, she decided to broaden her career by moving into a management role, being assigned to take over SDN Torrance. Her leadership reshaped the struggling branch into a model for the company, particularly its efforts to rehabilitate former supervillains through the Phoenix Program.

Current Role

Blonde Blazer is the one who hires Robert Robertson to join SDN, promising to help him regain his superhero career in exchange for his work as a dispatcher. She nominally acts as his supervisor during the events of Dispatch, offering advice and critiquing his decisions.

Appearance

Blonde Blazer is a blonde-haired young woman with blue eyes. She is tall and athletic, being slightly taller than Robert with a slender build. Her appearance is actually a side-effect of her transformation—in human form as Mandy, she is at least two inches shorter, less muscular, and has brown hair. - Superhero Costume: Grey skintight bodysuit with a blue sleeveless leotard, navy elbow-length gloves and thigh-high boots, short yellow waist-length cape, red jewel on chest, and blue upper-face mask. - Civilian (Mandy): Black sports bra with matching shorts, grey zip-up hoodie, and white running shoes (seen in Episode 8 after giving up her powers).

Personality

In the SDN office, Blonde Blazer is friendly, welcoming, and encouraging towards her subordinates and coworkers. She represents the "golden age of supers"—honorably courageous with a generous spirit and a strong dose of corporate-approved dorkiness. Key personality traits: - Idealistic: Believes in the Phoenix Program with all her heart and truly sees the good in everyone - Professional: Maintains appropriate boundaries while being emotionally supportive - Vulnerable: Struggles privately with her superhero identity and fears no one will care who she is behind the mask - Mature: Even if not romanced by Robert, she gracefully accepts his choices and wishes him happiness Blonde Blazer typically does not swear—so when she does, people understand how grave a situation is.

Powers and Abilities

Amulet Transformation

Blonde Blazer's powers stem from a magical necklace with a large red gem. The transformation also changes her appearance to be taller, more muscular, and blonde. - Superhuman Strength: Can break concrete and lift, throw, and carry adults without hindrance - Superhuman Durability: Unfazed by gunfire; can endure Phenomaman's supersonic flight - Flight: Can fly while carrying passengers, though not as fast as Phenomaman - Energy Projection: Fires yellow energy beams from her hands; her eyes and body glow golden while using this ability - Superhuman Metabolism: Higher-than-normal alcohol tolerance, requiring pure alcohol in large quantities to become intoxicated

In-Game Power

Radiant Light: All heroes that pass through Blazer's radiant light gain a protective shield that defends them against one injury.

Weaknesses

- Standard Human Physiology: Without her necklace, Mandy's physical prowess is reduced to that of a normal human—she struggles to even open a beer bottle.

Relationships

Z-Team (Phoenix Program)

Has faith in their rehabilitation but must balance her hopes with showing the Phoenix Program's potential to SDN leadership. During the final battle with Shroud, the Z-Team discovers her reliance on the amulet.

Chase

Respects him for his former identity as Track Star and his SDN work. Personally invited Robert based on Chase's recommendation. When Shroud attacks while Chase is comatose, Blazer lends him her amulet to wake him. Afterward, she allows him to keep borrowing it until they find a solution for his health.

Phenomaman

Ex-boyfriend. Broke up with him after he only ever saw her as "Blonde Blazer" rather than Mandy—confronting him about this during a dinner in Tokyo. Their relationship remains awkward; she asks Robert to tell him to stop sending fruit baskets. If Phenomaman joins Z-Team, he improves over time and even saves her during the final battle.

Trivia

  • Likely modeled on female heroes like Captain Marvel and Supergirl, with power mechanics similar to Doctor Fate, Green Lantern, or Shazam (transformation from object).
  • Her real name "Mandy" may reference Amanda Waller, DC's Suicide Squad boss—fitting for someone managing reformed villains.
  • Laura Bailey and Erin Yvette originally swapped roles. Bailey was cast as Blonde Blazer until director Pierre Shorette felt her voice better suited Invisigal.
  • Her swimsuit art may be inspired by Power Girl's costume.
  • Despite not owning a car, she knows how to drive—demonstrated during the final battle with Shroud.
  • The only manager who makes "corporate-approved dorkiness" sound like a compliment.
