You don't get it. Some people are born to be heroes. I'm not one of them.

Backstory

Origins

Courtney was born with the power of invisibility. It is implied she grew up around criminals or was bullied when young, which influenced her belief that her powers only made her suited to be a villain. She has asthma, a condition she was either born with or developed from living in moldy houses.

Criminal Career

During her criminal career as Invisibitch, Courtney committed assault, larceny, and robbery. One of her crimes was robbing Granny's Donuts and subsequently being banned for life by Granny. In exchange for a mechanical augment designed to improve her lungs, she began working for Shroud. Under the belief it would close her debts to Shroud, she placed a bomb undetected on Mecha Man's back by Shroud's instruction—the same bomb that ended Robert Robertson's superhero career.

Joining SDN

Invisigal joined the Phoenix Program immediately after planting the bomb on the Mecha Man suit, a few months prior to Robert's arrival. She joined under the condition that they didn't ask why she joined. If Robert succeeds as her mentor, she stays a hero at the end of the game.

Appearance

Invisigal is a woman with short, spiky dark violet hair and brown eyes. She has a septum piercing with a small silver ring. - Civilian/Hero: Pink cropped jacket over a black cropped shirt, skintight black chinos, and matching combat boots. - Red Ring: Black cropped jacket instead of pink. - Cybernetic Augment: An exposed mechanical augment in her upper abdomen that faintly glows red, designed by Shroud to prolong her breath-holding ability (appears non-functional by the game's timeline, as she regularly uses her inhaler).

Personality

Immature, snarky, and self-destructive, Invisigal is aggressive both verbally and physically. She has problems taking responsibility for her actions and listening to advice, physically assaulting Robert Robertson after he holds her accountable for a botched mission caused by her insubordination. Key personality traits: - Impulsive: Claims to have ADHD, contributing to her inattention and emotional outbursts - Flirtatious: Makes lewd remarks to and about Robert Robertson regardless of romance status - Envious: Deeply jealous of heroes like Blonde Blazer and Phenomaman whose powers she perceives as inherently "good" - Self-loathing: Believes her power of invisibility predestines her for villainy Despite her usual attitude, she genuinely wants Robert's respect and approval—leaving him a doughnut after day one (which she later crushes on his keyboard out of spite). After Robert's mecha suit explodes due to a bad prototype, she takes the initiative to search for the real Astral Pulse.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

- Invisibility: Invisigal can turn invisible at will when holding her breath. This extends to anything she wears. While with the Red Ring, cybernetic enhancements increased her lung capacity.

Skills

- Expert Combatant: Possesses great hand-to-hand combat skills, capable of taking on goons twice her size and several at once.

Weaknesses

- Asthma: Prevents her from utilizing her powers to their full potential since they only work when holding her breath. - Standard Human Physiology: No enhanced strength or durability.

Relationships

Z-Team

Initially tense, relationships sour when members sabotage each other to avoid performance cuts. After defeating Lightningstruck, she earns their respect. Her reckless attempt to retrieve the Astral Pulse (causing Chase's hospitalization) nearly gets her cut from the team. Golem is her only friend and synergy partner who consistently supports her.

Chase

Mutual dislike—he believes she's a selfish loner who gets people hurt. Despite this, he sacrifices himself using his powers to save her from Shroud. They reconcile briefly after defeating Shroud's mech, though his final opinion depends on her path.

Royd

Initially finds her annoying but allows her in his lab. She asks him to help locate the real Astral Pulse. He later suspects her of being a double agent and ties her up before the final fight.

Trivia

  • Has an ability that relies on holding her breath, is asthmatic, and still smokes cigarettes. Peak decision-making.
  • Claims to have ADHD in Episode 2 ("Onboard"). The impulsivity checks out.
  • Banned for life from Granny's Donuts. Criminal record includes pastry theft. Priorities.
  • Likes Sour Patch Kids. Sour then sweet—just like her personality. (Mostly sour.)
  • Laura Bailey and Erin Yvette originally swapped roles—Bailey was cast as Blonde Blazer until director Pierre Shorette asked them to switch, feeling Bailey's voice better suited Invisigal.
  • Her in-game power "Lone Wolf" reduces travel and call completion time when sent alone. Fitting for someone allergic to teamwork.
  • Has a synergy bonus with Golem—the only teammate who consistently has her back. Even in gameplay mechanics, friendship matters.
